    Dr-Arnold

    PROFESSOR JAYANTHA ARNOLD MBBS, MRCS, FRCP

    Postgraduate Dean, Clinical Medicine and Joint director of the Clinical MD of General Internal Medicine.

    Professor Jayantha Arnold is a senior consultant in Gastroenterology at London North West Healthcare NHS Trust. He trained in Gastroenterology at Kings College Hospital, London and in Cardiff.

    He has been Clinical Tutor for over 10 years at Ealing Hospital and was also the Training Programme Director in Gastroenterology for Northwest London for 3 years. Professor Arnold is a Regional Advisor in Gastroenterology for the Royal College of Physicians in London. He performs endoscopic procedures including biliary endoscopy at Ealing Hospital.

    Professor Arnold’s research interests include iron status in patients with inflammatory bowel disease and trigger factors for inflammatory bowel disease.

    PROFESSOR RAJAT MATHUR MBBS, MD, FRCP, PhD (Edin)

    Postgraduate Dean, Clinical Medicine and Joint director of the Clinical MD of General Internal Medicine.

    Professor Rajat Mathur is senior consultant physician in respiratory medicine at London North West Healthcare NHS Trust and Royal College tutor at Ealing Hospital, London, with special interest, training and experience in sleep disorders.

    He trained in London (St Mary’s Hospital Medical School), Nottingham (University and City Hospitals) and Edinburgh (Scottish National Sleep Centre, Royal Infirmary, University of Edinburgh). His fellowship in sleep disorders at the Scottish National Sleep Centre led to numerous publications in the field of sleep and respiratory medicine and award of PhD in genetics of sleep apnoea from the University of Edinburgh in 1995.

    He is the lead consultant at Ealing Hospital in sleep medicine and non-invasive ventilation and a member of British Sleep Society.

    PROFESSOR SIMON PAYNE MBBS, LLM, FRCS, FCEM

    Professor of Emergency Medicine.

    Professor Payne is a senior consultant at St. Richard’s Hospital in Chichester in Emergency Medicine. He has also been a medicolegal advisor for the Medical Protection Society. He is also the chairman of medical advisory committee of the London Wellbeck Hospital. He trained in the Southampton rotation in A&E.

    Professor Payne has written and lectured extensively on legal and ethical aspects of medicine. He has also researched into medical and legal aspects of injury in rugby and football.

    PROFESSOR STEPHEN ASH MBBS, BSc, FRCP

    Senior consultant physician in Infectious Diseases and Acute Medicine at Ealing Hospital and past chairman of the Medical Staff Committee.

    Professor Ash is a senior consultant physician in Infectious Diseases and Acute Medicine at Ealing Hospital and past chairman of the Medical Staff Committee. He is also past clinical director for Medicine and A&E at Ealing Hospital. He trained in Infectious Diseases at the St Georges’ Hospital, London.

    Professor Ash provides Hepatitis C service at Ealing Hospital and is an examiner for the Royal College of Physicians. He has also researched extensively into HIV and soft tissue infections.

    PROFESSOR WILLIAM LYNN MBBS, MD, FRCP

    Senior consultant in Infectious Diseases and past Medical Director and deputy CEO at Ealing Hospital.

    Professor Lynn is a senior consultant in Infectious Diseases and past Medical Director at Ealing Hospital. He is also an honorary consultant physician at the Moorfields Eye Hospital. He trained in Infectious Diseases at the Hammersmith Hospital, London and at the Boston University, USA.

    He is the author of many publications and has special research interest in bacterial endotoxin including pathogenesis and immunotherapy of severe bacterial sepsis. He is also interested in research into infections in the immunocompromised host and management of intraocular infection.

    Professor Lynn has received numerous national and international prizes and awards and was on the National Joint Working party on Hospital Isolation facilities.

    PROFESSOR ANDREW SCURR MBBS, FRCA

    Professor of Medicine.

    Professor Scurr is the senior consultant in Critical Care and director of ITU at Ealing Hospital. He trained in Anaesthetics and Intensive care in London and for several years he was the director of ITU at Newham Hospital, London.

    Professor Scurr is a recognized teacher in the field of intensive care and has lectured extensively on this topic.

    PROFESSOR JASPAL KOONER MBBS, MD, FRCP

    Senior consultant cardiologist at Ealing and Hammersmith Hospitals and Professor of Cardiology at Imperial College,London.

    Professor Kooner is Consultant and Professor of Clinical Cardiology at Ealing and Hammersmith Hospitals, London.

    He qualified from St Thomas’s Hospital, London and underwent specialist cardiology training at St. Mary’s Hospital, London. His clinical interests are in coronary artery disease, invasive and interventional cardiology and research interests in the basis of atherosclerosis. He has published extensively in peer reviewed journals and runs the Ealing Hospital MRCP course.

    PROFESSOR PETER EVANS MBBS, MD, FRCP

    Professor of Medicine.

    Professor Evans is a senior consultant in Diabetes and Endocrinology at the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport, South Wales. He trained in Endocrinology in Cardiff and has research interest in diagnostic tests for thyroid disease.

    He is involved in researching endocrinological aspects of sports science and metabolic syndrome in Type 1 Diabetes and has presented many original papers on thyrotropin.

    Professor Evans is a member of Clinical Governance committee at the Royal Gwent Hospital.

    Visiting Professor in Paediatrics

    Professor Piyush Prasad is a senior consultant in Pediatrics & Neonatology at Prasad Hospital and Apollo Hospital in Agra, India. He trained in Pediatrics in S.N. Medical College, Agra, Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi and Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, Essex, UK.
